We invite submissions of photographs that are likely to attract the interest of researchers from different fields, as well as members of the general public who may not be familiar with semiconductors, MEMS (micromachines), microfabrication, and related technologies. During the conference, the submitted photographs and brief descriptions of the works will be displayed near the entrance to the venue.

Why not take this opportunity to showcase a device you have developed? Both successful and unsuccessful devices are welcome.

1. Nano Category:
   Photographs in which the length of the longer side is less than 100 µm.
2. Micro Category:
   Photographs in which the length of the longer side is 100 µm or more and less than 1,000 µm.
3. High School Student Category:
   Photographs of small structures or natural science phenomena. Eligible applicants: high school students and students in Years 1-3 of colleges of technology (KOSEN) in and around the host area.
   Eligible photographs include:
   • Photographs taken using microscopes available at high schools
   • Photographs taken using smartphone cameras (magnification is allowed)
   • Photographs taken using DSLR or digital cameras
   • Photographs of structures that are as small as possible; however, there is no specific size requirement
   • Photographs related to natural science in any field or area, taken with the creativity and imagination of high school students
   • Examples: Geometric patterns, regularly arranged repeating structures, and phenomena such as the refraction or scattering of light, etc.

At least one of the submitter or co-authors must participate in the conference and be able to attend the Photo Contest Award Ceremony. This requirement does not apply to the High School Student Category.

Photographs such as scanning electron microscope images and optical microscope images are eligible for submission. As submitted works may be published on the conference website and other media, submissions must be works for which the copyright is owned by the submitter or a co-author, or for which prior permission for use has been obtained from the copyright holder.
